Ricing - “In Linux lingo, a term meant for custom cosmetics in a user’s system. Some Linux users take advantage of the fact that Linux is very customizable by taking the time to scrutinize and change every cosmetic detail of their system to absolute preference. This is called ricing. Thusly, a system that has had it’s cosmetic options heavily modified from the default by a user to better fit their preferences is called a rice. More common in experienced Linux users, as they are less afraid to dig around in files for the ones that control the cosmetic features of their desktop (which can wildly vary between different desktop environments (e.g. GNOME, KDE Plasma, SwayWM, Hyprland).”
